Distinguish contribution from a loan
Money transferred to a company can represent equity, a loan, repayment or another transaction. The facts and agreements control its treatment. This form records a contribution only; it does not convert debt into equity or decide how a payment should be treated for tax purposes. Discuss uncertain classification with an appropriate adviser.
Describe the property and evidence
Enter the stated USD amount and describe the cash or property contributed. Keep supporting bank records, receipts, agreements and valuation evidence separately. For noncash property, the amount entered is the user’s stated value, not an appraisal produced by the tool. Avoid entering bank-account details or private identifiers.
Keep economics consistent
A contribution does not necessarily change ownership percentages, voting rights or distribution entitlements. Check the operating agreement and any approved amendments. If the transaction creates or changes an ownership interest, obtain the appropriate approvals and documents before updating the member register.
Connect the record to bookkeeping
